Summary:
The Aluminum MIG Welder is responsible for performing welding operations using MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding techniques to join aluminum components and structures. This role requires a high level of skill and precision in operating welding equipment, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring the quality and integrity of welded joints. The Aluminum MIG Welder works as part of a team and may be required to perform other related tasks to support production goals.
Responsibilities:
- Perform aluminum MIG welding operations according to specifications, blueprints, and work instructions
- Set up and adjust welding equipment, including selecting appropriate wire, gas, and voltage settings
- Prepare workpieces for welding by cleaning, degreasing, and positioning them accurately
- Inspect materials and components for defects or imperfections prior to welding, and report any issues to supervisors
- Ensure proper joint fit-up and alignment before initiating the welding process
- Execute welding operations, maintaining appropriate welding parameters, and adjusting as necessary to achieve desired weld quality
- Monitor welding processes to prevent overheating, distortion, or other welding-related issues
- Perform quality checks on completed welds to ensure they meet established standards and specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and handling of welding equipment and materials
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, or damage to equipment
- Document welding activities, including materials used, production counts, and any issues encountered during the welding process
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical welding program is preferred
- Proven experience as an Aluminum MIG Welder or similar role, with expertise in welding aluminum materials
- Proficient in MIG welding techniques and familiar with various aluminum alloys
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Knowledge of welding equipment setup, operation, and maintenance
- Familiarity with safety procedures and practices in a welding environment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality welds
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Effective communication and teamwork skills

Monday-Friday 7am-3:
30pm
Pay Rate:
$19/hour
