Join Ohio Reading & Math Corps and make a real difference in students' lives! Seeking service-oriented people to provide elementary level tutoring for K-5 students in local elementary schools as a Member of Ohio Reading & Math Corps! Work with students who are below-proficient in math for their grade level.
Members are assigned to one school for the school year Members will provide tutoring to a set list of students in small groups or in 1:
1 settings.
This is a great way to give back to the community, help students, and get your foot in the door if interested in obtaining a job in a school district.
This is a service position with AmeriCorps, requiring 30 hours/week December 1st - May 31st following the school schedule.
High school diploma required.
No maximum age limit.
In return for service, Members receive a stipend of $1,500 per month, plus an Education Award of up to $2,626 upon completion of the term.
This can be used to pay student loans or tuition.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
