## Job Description
The Director of Business Development is responsible for meeting or exceeding the revenue, admissions, patient census, and growth objectives for Senior Independence at a single site or on a regional basis. This position is responsible for developing programs focused on growth of Senior Independence revenue, patient census and partnering opportunities. The position provides support, training and technical assistance to account executives.
_Essential Activities & Tasks_
Marketing and Referral Management
Identifies potential referral sources and new target markets. This includes contacts at Hospitals, Rehab facilities, Assisted Living, Independent Senior Housing, Physicians, Durable Medical Equipment Suppliers and others.
Develops strategies to work with potential clients and target markets to incur sales.
Focuses on developing and continually maintaining a productive relationship with key referral sources, partners and contacts.
Continually analzyes accounts determining the changing sales potential, and ensure sales staff is doing the same.
Works toward supportive relationships among account representatives, admissions and field & office staff to foster team-building and the generation of referral sources.
Encourages and recognizes field staff to identify and make referrals of clients who may need additional SI services.
People Management & Development
Fosters a positive work environment that attracts, retains and motivates top quality employees.
Interviews, selects, supervises and sets performance expectations for direct reports.
Coaches and counsels direct reports regarding the performance expectations of their position. Evaluates job performance of direct reports and provides development guidance to staff for improved performance, and growth, when requested.
Participates in the planning, conducting, scheduling, etc. of in-service training programs, on-the-job training, and orientation programs for all staff.
Defines and promotes expectations so all staff understand and demonstrate excellence.
Strategic Planning
Develops annual sales forecasting and business planning in conjunction with the Corporate Director of Business Development and the Executive Director.
Develops and manages the site's sales strategy and marketing function to support organizational growth, goals, and objectives and respond to the changing needs of the organization.
Participates in the sites' strategic planning with the purpose of aligning sales and marketing with overall goals.
Sales
Opens new accounts. Makes initial sales contacts and once developed, passes to account executives or admissions staff or manages sales process by determining sales & marketing strategies for staff handling all contacts with a referral source.
Accompanies marketing staff on selected sales calls.
Assists sales staff in meeting and exceeding their goals by communicating a marketing plan and ensuring staff are following through with the plan.
Community Relations
Fosters positive OPRS campus relations through participation and visibility at resident events.
Holds health fairs and other community events on a regular basis (e.g., quarterly) to foster positive community relations and to provide service to the geriatric community.
Represents Senior Independence in targeted local and state professional organizations, conferences, trade shows and other activities.
Fina n cial Management, Administration and Reporting
Develops and manages marketing budget.
Ensures marketing and sales staff are utilizing the marketing information software system, entering appointments and contacts. (This allows staff and management to track the marketing plan to actual activity.)
Ensures staff retrieve necessary documentation for intake referral processes.
Provides monthly reports for referral tracking and sales to the Executive Director and the Corporate Director of Marketing.
Produces an Executive Summary to the Controller for the previous month's marketing activities.
Writes quarterly report on social accountability to document non-profit viability.
_Qualifications Required_
Education
Bachelors Degree in marketing, business, or a health related field or 10
years of management experience in a sales/marketing capacity. RN license is not necessary, but is preferable.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Experience
Minimum five years marketing or sales experience, experience in home health care is preferred.
Experience in Excel, Word, Power Point and contact management database.
Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Must be insurable and meet OPRS' carrier underwriting standards.
